Kalipur Beach is one of the most unique beaches located near Diglipur in North Andaman. Unlike many beaches in the Andaman Islands that feature white sand, Kalipur Beach is known for its dark volcanic sand and pebbles, giving it a distinct natural character. Kalipur Beach is also an important nesting ground for several species of sea turtles, including the endangered Olive Ridley Sea Turtle. During the nesting season between December and February, turtles come ashore to lay their eggs, making the beach an important conservation site. Visitors sometimes have the rare opportunity to witness baby turtles hatching and making their way to the sea under the supervision of forest department officials.
